I need a professional translator, (Spanish to English, vice versa)?

I am doing an assignment for my Speech class, the assignment requires me to "interview" someone from my career pathway, in this case it would be a professional translator obviously(=

You would have to answer these questions

1. What educational training is necessary for this job?

2. What kind of work experience will prepare a candidate for this field?

3. What kind of job satisfaction does this field offer?

4. What are the future employment prospects for this profession?

5. Are there disadvantages in this profession?

6. What characteristics does a person need to have in order to be successful in this field?

I would need your contact information such as your e-mail, just in case the teacher checks that we actually asked a professional....thanks!I need a professional translator, (Spanish to English, vice versa)?
I'd love to answer this, but I'm not going to display my contact details on Y/A and I doubt whether anyone else will be willing to either!I need a professional translator, (Spanish to English, vice versa)?

What is the most accurate online english to spanish translator?

A human that actually speaks (or at least understands and writes) both languages well.

Seriously, most online machines are NOT worthy of the name "translator" because they just replace one word with another - regardless of what is meant by it.

Work is done on a machine that will to some extent "understand" ( "apertium"??) but it'll take years of work to get that workingWhat is the most accurate online english to spanish translator?

Help from bilingual translator (Spanish and English)?

Hello,

I have to recite a written speech tomorrow and desperately need a native or fluent speaker to help me translate it into Spanish. It is fairly long and it will be ok if the translation is not exact.

I would really appreciate the help, I am willing to make several more questions and give "best answers" to whomever translates the words first :)

Here is the speech:

"For my final project I learned a song in Spanish to perform in front of the class. I chose this project because I like music and I thought I could learn a lot about Mexican culture by studying it's music.

When I was looking for songs, I found several that I liked before I even found what they were about. I chose one song and started memorizing it before I found that it was about being a gangster. I learned from this project to never say anything in another language that you don't understand.

As I kept researching songs, I learned about Mexican choral music and loved it. I also found that Christianity is a wide spread religion in Mexico, and thought it would be appropriate to do a Christian song even though I am not religious. I learned that, like America, Mexico uses music to promote spiritual beliefs.

I finally chose a song called "Que ni?o es este" and started to memorize the lyrics. It was a challenge because the artist I was copying sang very fast.

I downloaded the music and brought it to class to sing to. I am not a singer, even though my last name is "Singer," so please clap for me even after I sing badly. Let me get started."

Thank you for your help!Help from bilingual translator (Spanish and English)?

  • How do I get a translator certificate?

I would like to work as a spanish-english translatorHow do I get a translator certificate?
You would have to be more specific in order to get a detailed answer. If you are in the US you can get a degree in translations. However, there is no unified system for certification of translators. Most known and respected certification is ATA (American Translators Association) certification. However, it's not offered to any language combination. They do offer certification for English-Spanish language pairs.

If you would like to work as a Spanish-English translator you do not necessarily need a certificate. However, obtaining ATA certification would be useful.

Please check ATA website for more information:

just want to know so when i write something it isn't wrong. Can I really rely on Google translator to translate english to spanish sentences for me?
No you can't. I would post it here on Yahoo answers before i did that. It doesn't make alot of sense sometimes when it is translated online. Your best bet is answers.
No, you really can't. A computer can't "translate" like a human translator can. Most online translators are either completely inaccurate or only slightly accurate, at best. Google Translate is better than some of the translation software systems you can find online, but I wouldn't rely on it for school assignments, tattoos or any kind of business communication if you want to avoid embarrassment.

There is an online human translation service (free) that you can use for short, non-school related information, but it's only available for the French and English languages. Can I really rely on Google translator to translate english to spanish sentences for me?
Goddess -- not really. It's only fairly reliable, all sorts of problems can come up.

your thrallCan I really rely on Google translator to translate english to spanish sentences for me?
Depends on the purpose of the translation.

If you are using it for your personal use or just for family and friends, they will probably understand the meaning and tolerate the mistakes done by Google. Yet, for any other purpose, you must hire the services of a professional translator.

  • How much does a translator earn in the UK?

I'm an English-Spanish Spanish-English translator and I'm considering moving to the UK for personal reasons. I'd like to know if there's a chance I could make ends meet as a translator there. I've seen a couple of websites that say "up to 80,000 euros" but I'd like to know if any of you know anybody who actually has this kind of job. Thank you all for your help! How much does a translator earn in the UK?
It depends if you want to work as an in-house translator in a company or as a freelance translator. I'm not 100% sure about in-house translators' salaries, but 80,000 per annum (55,000 British pounds) is definitely too high. I'd say something around 拢20 - 30,000 would be more realistic.

As a freelance translator, you can earn more than that - depending on how much work you get and how much you can work per day. I think English%26lt;%26gt;Spanish translators charge around 拢60 per 1,000 words. Most translators can do around 2,000 words per day, so that gives you 拢120 as a daily income - which is great of course if you can keep it up.

But remember you have to pay taxes as well, which are quite high.

hey! im a translator and you can earn up to 50,000拢 a year. it all depends who you work for or if you will decide to be selfemployed. and then it obviously depends on how many languages you speak too. if you work for embassies you will earn more than 50,000,if you work for a company (i.e for import/export) then it can be less. if you are selfemployed then you got to work very hard to get clients

It's the quickest. Or try a spanish forum. Yahoo groups has a ton to pick from. Or try www.friendsabroad.com. Here, you can chat online with lots of people from all over the world. She was still a newlywed when the attack came, Her supervisor cornered the Spanish teenager in a remote field in south of the County sex. The police report is vivid: The man tied her hands behind her back. Stuffed a handkerchief in her mouth to stifle the screams. Forced her to the ground. Pinned her arms. Pulled his pants down. Began yanking at her belt.

He was still fumbling with the stubborn belt when three other women walked up. He pulled his pants up and fled. Lying there, dirty embarrassed. terrified, she shook and wept over a scene, that would never leave her. It is a story repeated day after day in the fields of Arizona. But if you can believe the migrants and their advocates, most victims never report it. They fear the Police. Immigration might get called, and you know where that might lead.

The case of the spanish woman was unusual because she and her husband mustered the courage to call the cops. Sheriff's Detective Williams tried to help. but the vitim spoke an obscure spanish language. He took her to sister Lora, a spanish nun working with spanish migrants, sister Lora remembers a frightened teenager who lived in a rented house in Arizona

We could see she was in shock. We coud see she had been traumatized. The sheriff wanted so much to follow through on the case, but we could not find a true translator in. All of us were very, very sad about it. Soon after, the lady moved, "she said. "I remember somebody working en the center mentioned to me that this is so common, She said,'Oh, sister, if you only knew how common'".

Still, the detective tried, He looked for the suspect, but he had disappeared after being fired, Then he descover that the young woman had been fired, too "What l gound so disturbing was that she was terminated for beign victim. l was just dumbfounded, What benefit do they have to report a crime?" But it could have been worse, She could have been kidnapped and turned into a sex slave. For women attempting to flee the poverty of their homelands, rape and force porstitution loom large on the list of threats thery face in their quest to find work in the United States.Help! Wow what a sad sad story. So bad that only a few people understand what you understand that immigrants don't come here to steal nothing from noone but to work and give their family a better life. And yes thats why every victim prefer stay quiet because noone do anything and like that lady she was fired for been a victim.

How accurate is Google Translator when translating English to French or Spanish?

How accurate would you say Google Translator is when translating English to French, or English to Spanish? I'd love answers from fluent French and Spanish speakers, cheers! How accurate is Google Translator when translating English to French or Spanish?
Translators have no chance whatsoever of getting it right if the original is not 100% grammatically correct and correctly spelt. Even then, translators do not understand idioms or context. For example, if you ask for the translation for "hydraulic ram" it is just as likely to give a translation meaning "aquatic male sheep"; if you type in an expression such as "I feel like death warmed up", it will probably give you an expression meaning "I want to die in a fire".

Conversely, I saw the Spanish expression "No s茅 nada de ingl茅s" (I know nothing about English) emerge as "He does not swim himself of groins" - because the original writer had not put in the written accents.

The point is that to be sure that a translator is giving you a correct translation you have to be totally conversant with both languages so that you can check the results - all of which seems to rather defeat the object of the exercise....
No good at all. Here's why. Most words have more than one meaning, but online translators pick just one. Most of the time it is not the right one. So the result is gibberish. You can't rely on it at all. You would do better to use an online dictionary like WordReference.com

Input one word at a time, choose your language, then you can choose among the many meanings depending on what your context is. If it is part of a phrase, check at the bottom of the page for forum explorations of the exact meaning of the phrase in context. Plus you get full conjugations of verbs. A much smarter approach than throwing in the whole sentence at once. Maybe not garbage in, but definitely garbage out.How accurate is Google Translator when translating English to French or Spanish?
It really isn't great. I'm not fluent but i'm doing advanced higher french and higher spanish at the moment and i know from past experience it isn't that accurate! SDL translation is a lot better! How accurate is Google Translator when translating English to French or Spanish?
English to Spanish: even though it has improved, i wouldn't say it is good. It's useful to figure out a broad meaning, but too often misinterprets the terms when they have more than one sense.
Eh. Depends on the original text. Sometimes it can be extremely accurate. Sometimes not.

The original text can not have any misspellings, homonyms, slang, or figurative language.

Hey, have you tried www.dictionary.com/translate ? I used it a lot when I studied French and German (that's if you want to translate words, and not something some one is saying - i.e. you don't want a person as a translator)

    - Oops just tried loading it in a web browser and it didn't appear to work, however there is www.google.com/translate -

But just to say, if you do use it, put it in word using the symbols because they don't have a function with inserting symbols on it, and if you put i a word they don't recognise it translates exactly as you wrote it!!

I think if you want a person to translate, try advertising it around student areas - especially Graduates / Post Grads. I'm sure they'll appreciate the experience, even if they're not being paid for it.

Sometimes all you need is one friend. You need a friend who will always be there for you when you need them to be. They need to have some of the qualities that you desire or see in yourself. However, I am a very complicated person. For example, I have many personalities that are hard to find in just one friend. That is why I enjoy having more than one best friend.English to spanish translator please?
I think you say the word friend so many times...but this is what you wrote:

"Algunas veces todo lo que necesitas es un amigo. Alguien que siempre este alli para ti cuando mas lo necesitas. El necesita tener algunas de las cualidades que te gustaria tener o que ves en ti mismo. De cualquier modo, soy una persona muy complicada. Por ejemplo, tengo muchas personalidades que son dificiles de encontrar en una sola persona. Es por eso que disfruto tener mas de un buen amigo."

I'm working on a project and I would like some help finding a FREE online translator that will translate full phrases... not single words. Thanks!Where can I find a free online English to Spanish translator?
All online translators are very litaral, so most teachers can tell if you used one. However, here is the best one on the web: http://www.babelfish.altavista.com/

Make sure you get your teacher to go over what you wrote before you turn it in.

Also, check spanish-english /english-spanish dictionaries because they contain some phrases.
you might want to take a look at htt://m.askvelazquez.com

R.I.P. Latino is absolutely right. Online translators are not good.

What you get at the end makes no sense at all.
I wouldn't use them if i were u. They say they will traslate full phrases because they will. But NOT the right way, they will translate ur phrase the way u typed it and tell u it in spanish. But when u read the phrase in spanish some of it won't make sense.
Do not trust on line translators!!! They make no sense at all. I'd suggest a good dictionary, for instance Oxford Spanish Dictionary. I'm a translator and I use it a lot among many others.Online translators do not translate coherent phrases. Be carefull!!!

Is there a accurate online Spanish to English, and English to Spanish translator?

regardless of WHERE you go, there will never be a 100% accurate online translation of ANY language. online translators translate literally...word after word. and in some languages, the organization of a sentence is unlike english, meaning the verb might come before the subject or even begin the sentence etc. the same goes for spanish. our adjectives follow our nouns, (ex. el sol bonito %26gt; the sun pretty (literal) but really 'the pretty sun'). online translators may do okay in short, sparse sentences, but extreme translations are a fail. it's best to go to a native speaker or simply ask for help (if it's for a class)Is there a accurate online Spanish to English, and English to Spanish translator?
I'm sorry but I'm really tired right now cuz it's like 1:30am so I'm gonna say just google it
*points to self*Is there a accurate online Spanish to English, and English to Spanish translator?
No, never trust online translator 100%, they do a mess with the conjugation and also with some words choices. Is there a accurate online Spanish to English, and English to Spanish translator?
There are no completely accurate sites out there because a lot of words and phrases depend on context. They should be used more for reminders of stuff you already knew but needed to be shown again.
If you're looking for something 100% sure my advice is this website: http://www.onehourtranslation.com/affiliate/wiki It's the cheapest and faster website you can find.

PLEASE DONT USE GOOGLE TRANSLATOR! MY TEACHER YELLED AT US FOR DOING THAT!

Danielle: Hey there this is Daniella . Today is April 1st.

Katie: it is almost spring break for many students.

Danielle: is this a sign of good weather? What do you think Eva?

Katie: The high temperature for today is 72 degrees Fahrenheit and the low is 49 degrees. It is a sunny day. Good weather. What do you think we should wear today Mona?

Mona: These pair of capris from Hollister are very good. They are dark blue with trendy rips and they are very cheap too. Only 10 dollars. This shirt from Abercrombie would not be a bad choice either. It is pink short-sleeve shirt for girls. It is very pretty.

Danielle: That is good. Yolanda, what movies do you recommend for a warm, sunny day?

Nancy: Well, today is April Fools’ day, and I think we should watch Alice in Wonderland.

Katie: Tomorrow is going to be very hot. The highest temperature is going to 71 degrees and the low is 50 degrees. It is going to be sunny. What do you recommend Mona?

Mona: Short shorts from Macy’s. They are white and very comfortable. Only 15 dollars. How nice. A short sleeve shirt or a tank top would be very great too. For boys, shorts and a shirt.

Nancy: Some movies to watch are clash of the titans, leaves of grass, and the Greatest since they are coming in theaters today.

Katie: Saturday is going to be a calm, cloudy day with a high temperature of 70 and low of 50.

Mona: Capris or short shorts and tank tops are good. Abercrombie and Hollister have a big clearance sale on shorts and short sleeve shirts right now. 75 percent sale!

Yolanda: Some good movies people can watch are... Avatar, Our family wedding and any new movies in the theaters.

Katie: Sunday has a high of 70 and a low of 52. Very nice. Partly Cloudy. You can wear similar clothes to what you wore yesterday.

Yolanda: I recommend “How to Train Your Dragons” to watch with your kids.

Katie: Monday has a high of 65 and low of 45. Partly Cloudy. You can wear similar clothes and watch similar movies as the past few days.

Danielle: Wow. April seems like its going to be a wonderful gorgeous month. Thank you Eva, Mona and Yolanda for this wonderful weather forecast and your helpful tips and comments. We better go now. Thanks everyone for watching. Goodnight. Enjoy your spring break.Professional English-spanish translator/ Hispanic person needed.?

Mona: Shorts cortos (or you could say pantalones cortos) de Macy’s. Son blancos y muy comodos. Solo 15 dolares.

I don't really know what your asking, but if you mean, "Online English-Spanish; Spanish-English Translators," there are not any good ones. Most online translators are faulty, with slim to none correctness in any of the words translated, but I can give you some sites anyway...

    www.babelfish.com

    www.freedict.com
If you need to communicate with someone in Spanish and the risk of totally garbling your message is acceptable, then you can use any free online translator. Keep in mind, though, that the best of them is about as close to a moderately competent professional as the best sidewalk is to a house as a place to live in. Anyway, you can improve your chances of getting a halfway decent translation by writing your input in proper English.I need a really good english to spanish translator?
This is a difficult subject, because online translators are absolutely awful and untrustworthy. What happens is that they read each individual word and translate accordingly, as opposed to translating the complete sentence.

When they do this, they make something completely in a type of gibberish Spanish. You should really just stick to online tutoring or if you're in a Spanish class, you should ask someone to help you out.

If you're looking for one-word translations, wordreference.com is pretty reliable. But like I said, all online translators are crap for the most part. You're best bet is to buy a dictionary. :)I need a really good english to spanish translator?
www.wordreference.com is a good online dictionary and they have a message bard where you can ask about frases and such.

www.freetranslation.com is good if you want the gist of something (such as a paragraph) it isn't always 100% accurate but it isn't horrible. If you need a page or several pages translated accurately, you can pay to have someone translate them for you.

I want to become a translator; I am bilingual and would like to become a translator for Spanish and English?

I don't know the procedures needed. I would like to know if the pay is good. Is the schooling worthed later in life.I want to become a translator; I am bilingual and would like to become a translator for Spanish and English?
How old are you now? Procedures differ depending on where you are in life. If you're still in high school, you'll need to pick a college that is known for their language program or join the military (I know the Army has a good language program), where you can use your bilingual abilities for a variety of different jobs. The military also pays for college and if you stay enlisted, you may have better opportunities to get jobs in your field. You could look for jobs almost anywhere as a translator. If you'd like to work for the UN or the State Department, you should visit their websites to see how their hiring process works.

My Spanish teachers always told me that being bilingual will open up twice as many job and career opportunities and knowing a second language usually gets you paid quite a bit more than someone who only knows how to speak English. It all depends on where you work, of course, and how much you're needed.

School is always worth your time and effort, unless you can figure out a way to bypass school and go directly into a high-paying job. Having some type of degree to back up your Spanish abilities is very valuable, as prospective employers will usually employ someone with some schooling before someone with none, unless their abilities prove to be exceptional.

If you are out of school and have completed college, searching websites of companies that you would like to be affiliated with is always a good start in the employment process.

    Hope I helped!
Yes, it's a good profession. Contact places like hospitals, businesses, government places that need someone as a translator. Tell them your fees and how they can contact you when they need you.

But, I must tell you . . Spanish/English translators are a dime a dozen. It is so common that almost everybody does it. If you really want a profession as a translator, you need to know several other languages to go with your Spanish. I want to become a translator; I am bilingual and would like to become a translator for Spanish and English?
My mother did lots of translations in the past (often economic translations) from English into Spanish and viceversa and got paid well. You need to get some sort of qualification in your second language, although I don't know what your situation would be being completely bilingual.

I would highly recommend that you place an ad on Craigslist/Buenos Aires. Here is the link:

    http://buenosaires.es.craigslist.org/

The page will be in Spanish. On the left side, click on "Env铆a un Anuncio" (Send an ad), then on the options list, click on "Se busca/Compro" (Wanted/want to buy). This option allows you to place an ad for free and yes, you can post it in English, explaining what it is you're looking for. (I suggest you always ask for references, including -but not limited to- other foreigners.)

Just fill out the form; it will ask for a title, amount (you can simply put in $1 and discuss with parties later) and area (Buenos Aires or whatever area of town you'll be in.)

Fill out the text body then hit Continue. It's pretty self-explanatory.

    Good luck.

    Here you go.

    http://translate.google.com/translate_t#

You can change the language with the drop down menu below the writing box.
You will not find a translator that can translate in complete sentences AND make sense.

The reason is that a translator has to translate word by word, but this only works for some very simple sentences and not at all for idioms or any words with multiple meanings.

Therefore, there is no way around learning a foreign language, if you want to understand texts in other languages.

A translator can help someone who already knows the languages involved to translate a text - but usually needs to be thoroughly edited. It can also handle very simple sentences like "The cat runs," but even when you try to translate "The cat is running," you might end up with a wrong answer.Does anyone know a website that has a translator for english to spanish?

You have fill in the application online, then an agent will contact you as soon as the application is reviewed, the interview is done over the phone, then the same thing with training.

    a native speaker....

all online translators work too bad...What is the most accurate translator from English to Spanish?
The ONLY accurate translator is someone who is fluent in both English and Spanish. Sorry.
Free online translators just translate word for word, which never works out that great and it can be hard to understand. They can mess up even simple sentences.

Example: "Me falta pr谩ctica en Espa帽ol" means "I need to practice my spanish" in English. But you translate that sentence with the free translator and you get: "I lack practical in spanish

They are pretty much only good for getting the "gist" of a sentence or paragraph.

If you want a really good translator, then you'll need a person.
I am a native Spanish speaker but part of my work is translate workshops and books. I have used freetranslations.com and google translation tools. So far, google translation does a better job. Of course you still have to check, correct and edit, but definitely google leaves me less work to do.
freetranslation.com has been accurate for me, so far.

What is the best online spanish to english, english to spanish translator?

I am just looking for something that is accurate!!!What is the best online spanish to english, english to spanish translator?
WordReference.com is very good... it's not a translation site but rather a dictionary. But it has forums where real Spanish speakers can translate your text and includes all idiomatic pharses in its dictionary.

Babelfish and Freetranslation sometimes give you inaccurate (aka too literal) translations
you might want to try http://m.askvelazquez.com

I need a good online translator that will translate my sentences from English to different dialects of Spanish including the slangs. Not google translator, not babel fish, those don't have it. I want ALL dialects of spanish.

    Example:

    English to Spanish(Mexican)

    English to Spanish(Puerto Rican)

    English to Spanish(Chilean)

    English to Spanish(Peruvian)

    English to Spanish(Argentinian)

    English to Spanish(Colombian)

    English to Spanish(Bolivian)

And all the other Spanish dialects I can't remember.

    Please this would help.

Thannnnnkkkss =]An online translator from English to Spanish?
The best online translator is Yahoo! Answers, of course! You get real people who can answer your questions here, unlike automated online translators. Sites like freetranslation don't help because they produce a gisted translation, and are usually pointless.

Just keep making contacts here and ask your questions here. It only costs 5 points, but you get personal help here for free.
There are NO reliable translators on line. All of them are just so terrible.

And on top of that, you'd like to have something which goes into that much detail????

If I were you, I'd try to get a good, normal, traditional dictionary.

There are excellent ones which will show where the word, in brackets, is used. And there are others called 'Advanced Learners Dictionary' which are great since they'll give you examples to show how the words are used.An online translator from English to Spanish?
