I'm currently translating over 100 documents from Spanish to English, and I want the help of a translator, but I have test the one from Google and the one built-in in word and both are so so. rason correct spelling is: razon


if you spell it 'rason' - it can change the meaning to: made of satin (material); or in the military it means: private (as in rank)





Also, you wouldn't put a question mark after 'razon'. However, when using question marks in Spanish, you put one at the bigging and end of the 'question' the first one is aun upside down question mark (I don't have one in my keyboard) and then the regular one used in the English language.

Hello, I would like to immigrate to the USA (california) and as I understand they have a huge demand for Spanish-Englsih translators (Is it true?), So I thought about the best way for immigrating to california and after a little bit of thinking and research I arrived to the conclusion that the easiest way would be to apply for a university where they teach for becoming a translator, get accepted and applying for the student visa, I have some money saved for my plan (30 K) and as I understand I can work for 20 hr a week with a student visa; after I finish my degree I might (or might not) find an enterprise that would sponsor me, I know that is plan wont guaranty my staying at USA, however I at lest would like to try as I love america and by means would like to immigrate illegally; Unfortunately I was born Mexican (which will make my plan even harder to accomplish) but my family roots are from Syria and Turkey, personally and in my opinion the only think I have from Mexico is the language as I am not living in Mexico anymore; the following questions are addressed:





1) Do you think being a translator is a good way for making a living at California (where in California? SD? SF?,)


2) Where do they have good programs for becoming a translator, I would like to be a good translator, like the ones that are hired at court rooms or enterprises.)

People will either look down on you or pity you (there's a reason for that) and you won't be able to get a good job because employers can't hire illegals. If you want to work for a company, you need to be legal. Illegals don't do white-collar jobs...student visas are non-immigrant visas. As you said, there's no guarantee that you would be able to find a job after you graduate. Why don't you go to school in your country and become a translator there?

The problem with translation websites is they usually translate the "literal"(using unreliable software technology)....which we know can not be done when translating into the foreign language. Your best luck with phrases would be to try a couple of translation websites to compare the phrases and then to see which response comes up the most. If you're unsure, check with someone who is bilingual.

Which free on line Spanish to English translator is most accurate?

I was trying to translate "claro que si" into english, but i had different results from different sites. one said that it meant "clear that if" and another said "skylight that if" but I thought my teacher said it meant "yes of course", so now I am really confused as to which it is, and i need a reliable spanish/english translation site|||Your teacher is right-it means of course... I use freetranslation.com a lot, but I think an even better one would be wordreference.com. It will show you the definition, plus things that its used in. For example, yesterday I wanted to know how to translate 篓thorn in my side篓...I looked up thorn, which I knew, but then scrolling down it has colloquial phrases, including the one I was looking for, and how to say them... Also a good spanish english dictionary will sometimes have a middle section with special idiomatic expressions like that. Good luck!|||Oh please there is not a good on line translator. I think each country has its own rules as for how to become a sworn translator. In Argentina, for example, you first have to hold a bachelor's (university) degree in sworn translation. Then you have to enrole in the Colegio de Traductores P煤blicos, which is a professional association for translators.


In any case, you'll have to check in your local area, since steps will vary according to the country you live in.

Does anyone know any good Spanish/English electronic translator in stores? It's for a 50-60 year old person. who speaks only Spanish ( but could understand a little English). It has to be kinda easy to use. It has to be $30 or $ 25 and under. It has to be good to translate English to Spanish in words or in sentences... Thanks.|||Barnes %26amp; Noble and Borders used to have very good electronic translators. The prices vary. You can go to their websites and check it out first. You can also check on eBay or Amazon. I bet the prices of those sites will be lower than in stores.

I want to know what is a good website for a spanish to english translator.|||Rosetta Stone|||No free service will translate exactly what you write into Spanish because it will only translate word for word. Some translators, such as Google Translate (my personal favorite for all my homework-cheating needs) can translate senences correctly, but the verb use is wrong most of the time. You would be better off with a human translator, but since you're asking, I'm assuming one is not available to you. Use Google Translate (no, not translator, I checked) and then feed what it gave you back into it so it'll read it out in English (or whatever). It won't be completley accurate, but it'll be readable.|||The easiest way to translate Soanish to English is the Google translator. I personally use all the time. You should try to get a job with a company that has a lot of spanish speaking customers and not a lot of spanish speaking workers, like the corporate offices of a large international company and highlight the fact that you are bi lingual|||learn the language fluently and then you need to get a degree in language or speech.. then you get a certificate in translation..

All services have them. You get excellent translation experience. I would then seek a job in the Foreign Service or the UN or work at an Embassy. Set your goals VERY high! 1st is this is a dream held by many people. Many also speak english and spanish and rthe down turn in the economy has it even harder to find a job here. Your profession is high competition so it's a double edge sword for you.


Second will be your FM3 card you will need as your not native Mexican. This is near impossible to obtain.


Google FM3 or Rollybrook.com and read up.

|||Mickey is mostly right but the good news is that you can get away with not having to do an FM3 if you're just wanting to teach English... especially if it's just temporarily. English schools here in Guadalajara typically have such a high turnover rate of foreign teachers that they don't even bother with the Visa since it is such a hassle to get. No, technically it's not Legal, but please...





Your best bet is to get searching on the Internet or just come down for a month and show up at schools and tell them you're looking. I would stay sway from 'Quick Learning,' you won't have much luck there.. but Vancouver Language Center is a popular choice here and it isn't too hard to get a job (they may help you with the visa too, if you're serious). You will however, have to be TOEFL Certified to teach there.





There are literally hundreds of English teaching schools here of all sizes so you're bound to find something if you look long and hard enough. But Mickey is right in that it is something of a competitive field here as a very large percentage of Americans that come to live / work here are restricted to that line of work. And with the tough economic times it isn't getting any easier. But I managed to do it and 5 years later I'm still here :) Good Luck!

How can I find a job as a Spanish - English translator?

I speak Spanish and English, with English as my first language. I am willing to work from home and am willing to do freelance work, but I do not know where to begin. Try service centers for large companies i would start with places like samsung sylvania, panasonic and places like that. The ship small appliances like microwaves, tvs, stereos and walkmans all over the world and need translators. u might be able to work from home... They have 24 hour service centers that get call forwarding ...


I would contact a Job placement center like... Manpower, JOBSINC%26gt; look in the yellow pages for job service centers and tell them your qualifications. Some pay 15 to 25 dollars an hour and more if there is legal work involved.
